Roddy Cruz has worked in industrials-focused private equity since 2003. During that time he had been involved in the origination and/or supervision of the following portfolio investments: Plano Molding Company, Penn Engineering & Manufacturing Corp, K&F Industries, Doduco S.a.r.l., Vortex Aviation, PCML, Mivitec GmbH and Novi Profile Corporation. Prior to founding Blauvelt, Roddy worked at Goldman Sachs’ London offices from 2000 to 2003 in its U.K. Advisory Group and at Kingstreet Capital in 2004. Roddy is presently a director of PCML, Mivitec, and Novi Profile. Previously he was a director of Vortex Aviation Inc. and Vortex Aviation Ireland, Ltd., and director and chairman of Plano Molding Company. Roddy is a graduate of Harvard College and received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Michalis is also a managing partner at Banyan Investment Partners, LP., a private investment firm focused on providing subordinated debt and equity to smaller middle-market companies. He began his career in 1996 as a fixed income analyst with Goldman Sachs in New York, and from 1997 to 1999 worked in Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s London office as a global equity portfolio manager for institutional clients. After moving to Miami in the early 2000s, Michalis co-founded the Icon Group LLC, an independent investment management and advisory firm responsible for the corporate finance and investment activities of Grupo Financiero Uno. Michalis is actively involved with and a board member of several portfolio companies in varied industries within the U.S. and Europe. Michalis is presently a director of PCML, Mivitec and Novi Profile. Michalis received his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
From 2014 to 2018, Richard worked at Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (“CAM”). As Vice President of Finance for CAM’s Fasteners Group, he was responsible for financial oversight and a wide range of strategic and operational initiatives. As Director of Finance and Strategy for CAM, he was responsible for strategic planning, financial and operational analysis & reporting, and sourcing and executing the group’s M&A strategy.
From 2010 to 2014, Richard worked at Tinicum. While at Tinicum, he was responsible for analysis, transaction execution, and supervision of private equity investments, including Tinicum portfolio companies Plano Molding Company, R360 Environmental Services, F+W Media, Flat Rock Energy, and Empire State Development Partners.
Richard began his career in investing banking at Lazard Frères & Co., where he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group from 2008 through 2010. Richard earned a B.A. from Rice University.
A graduate of the University of Bath in Mechanical Engineering with French, Edward Brooks has over forty years’ experience in the manufacture of aerospace fasteners and components and the development of internal and customer support programs for the benefit of customers. Prior to joining Blauvelt Capital in 2015, Edward served in various senior international leadership, management and sales positions with SPS Technologies, Hi-Shear Corporation, Linread Northbridge, McKechnie Aerospace and Precision Castparts. Since January 2014, Edward has been consulting on long-term growth strategies for SME Aerospace and Bio-tech engineering companies in the UK and Ireland.
